Addisyn Minnabarriet - Annual Awards - Indigenous Minor Athlete Of The Year

So incredibly proud to celebrate Addisyn and the amazing season she’s had.

In her very first year of rep softball, she has already proven herself to be a dedicated, resilient, and team-first athlete. Traveling three hours one way just to attend practices, she consistently shows up prepared, focused, and eager to improve. Her commitment to personal growth and team success goes far beyond expectations - she takes feedback with positivity, puts in the work, and leads by example every single day.

Her 2025 season speaks for itself. As a dominant pitcher, Addisyn recorded over 340 strikeouts, finished with an outstanding 1.153 ERA, and posted a .418 batting average at the plate. Her performance played a key role in helping the West Kootenay Rebels secure a 2nd place finish at U15B Provincials in the Gold Division.

But what truly makes Addisyn special is who she is beyond the stats. As a proud member of Cooks Ferry Indian Band, she gives back to her Indigenous community by mentoring and helping coach younger athletes - building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and inspiring the next generation. She actively participates in cultural events and traditions, honoring her heritage while representing her community with pride and determination.

Addisyn embodies leadership, humility, perseverance, and heart. She is a standout athlete, a supportive teammate, and a powerful role model both on and off the field. The future is bright.
