Congratulations to Jason Ranchoux on receiving the Sport BC Presidents’ Award, the highest volunteer recognition presented by Sport BC. Jason was honoured on March 5, 2026, at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver ahead of the 58th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards.
The Presidents’ Award recognizes outstanding volunteers who go above and beyond to support sport and their communities across British Columbia. Jason was honoured for his remarkable dedication to softball, including 37 years of volunteer service and 12 years as an umpire.
Currently serving as Provincial Umpire-in-Chief, Jason has demonstrated exceptional leadership, including introducing a province-wide Yellow Card sanctioning system to improve behaviour management in the game. His focus on respect, education, and recruitment has also helped grow the provincial umpire program significantly.
Jason’s passion for mentoring, coaching, and strengthening the softball community continues to make a lasting impact across British Columbia. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
