This year, SSWRMSA is celebrating 30 years of softball, community, and youth development and they've got a lot to be proud of.
SSWRMSA has seen huge growth in South Surrey and worked with the City to help make it happen. Thanks to that, a $5 million upgrade to Sunnyside Park is now underway, bringing better fields and lighting so we can host more teams and tournaments.
Player development has also been a big focus. From hundreds of clinics throughout the year to our growing U11 Skills Academy (now with 80 athletes), we’re creating more opportunities than ever. We also launched the Thunder Select Development Program, giving even more players the chance to train and compete at a higher level.
So far, they've had over 650 registrations across our camps and clinics - a clear sign that softball is thriving in the community.
They've also loved working with groups like the White Rock Renegades and Surrey Storm to create even more opportunities for SSWR athletes.
None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers and families who keep everything running.
Proud of how far they've come and even more excited for what’s next!
