Parkes elected to Softball Canada Board of Directors. Hawes appointed to Softball BC Board.

Softball BC is pleased to announce that Lisa Parkes has been elected to the Softball Canada Board of Directors. Parkes, who has served as President of Softball BC since March 2022, was elected during the recent Softball Canada Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Halifax. While the Softball Canada Board does not have a structure to ensure geographical representation, Parkes' election is timely as long-standing Director Jackie Dugger is stepping down from the Board.

Parkes' appointment to the Softball Canada Board created a vacancy on the Softball BC Board, requiring her to resign from her position there. In accordance with our bylaws, the Softball BC Board has appointed Jack Hawes to fill the vacant seat until the next AGM. The remaining year of Parkes' original term of service will be open for election at that time.

We thank Lisa for agreeing to serve at the national level, ensuring the voice of members from across the country is heard. We also thank Jack for accepting the role for the next 11 months.
